Alice stood on the sidewalk next to a school. She had a backpack on her back and a lunch box in her hands. Children ran and laughed and played all around as they waited. Alice snoozed as she drifted down the river in her lone, donut decorated inflatable tube. She had been going down the river for the last few hours, contending with rapids and canoers and men alike.
