The small aquamarine bottle was half buried in the sand. Ahmed, cooped up inside, could hear the sound of the waves as they crashed on the shore. The worst of the storm was over, but now and then there were a few lightning strikes and rolls of thunder. Ahmed felt a trickle of water and peering upward, he noticed that the stopper was loose.
