Summer’s end in the Florida Keys was always laced in magic, but this Labor Day I will never forget. It started much like any day in the keys, the sky was bright and clear. I will never forget the first time I tasted blood. My teeth pierced the soft flesh of his neck, immediately the artery spilled pools of the tangy iron filled liquid into my mouth.
