The disco lights were blinking in beat to the soundtrack of Michael Jacksons’ “Beat It”. The large colorful space of the roller rink was speckled with people sharing laughs, some wobbling back and forth fighting the glide of their skates, and some passing by with speed and skill that made one “ooh!” and “ahh!”.
