Overview
I've worked in-house and as a freelancer for publishers and charities since 2005, generally working in the areas of wellbeing, self-help, psychology, mental health, yoga, alternative therapies, parenting, social care, and the arts.
I'd love to work with you to ensure your book is the best it can be, whether you need developmental and structural editing when you first finish your manuscript, line or copy editing to tighten up your text for your intended audience or a final proofread of your manuscript.
I know that sharing your book with someone else for the first time can be scary, and I'm here to make that process smooth and supportive.
It's important to me that I understand your project before we get started. I'll ask you questions to make sure I am clear on who it's for and what it needs to do. I might ask to see some of your previous writing projects to get a sense of your personal style and approach. We'll agree timescales and expectations together and make sure that we're both happy with the process.
Along with your edited manuscript, I'll provide thorough notes, a list of any outstanding queries and a style guide/spellings list (if you don't already have one) for you to take forward to the next stage of production.
As well as a love of words, I have an MA in design and and have completed the FC1 British Wheel of Yoga qualification. I live in north-west England, where I enjoy exploring the mountains, swimming in the lakes and eating delicious food.
