Corbin Lewars

Corbin Lewars – Editor

20 years experience as a developmental editor and coach helping award winning writers share their story and expertise with the world.

Overview

My authors use their book to change lives, especially their own. For 20 years I have partnered with emerging and established authors guiding them from conceptional outlines through publishing and using the book as a step towards speaking engagements and career pivots. I have a master's degree in education focused on narrative theory and over 20 years experience teaching at writing conferences, universities, and medical centers and use that education to guide and teach you through my edits and consultations. I don't just say "show don't tell" I rewrite your work so it shows rather than tells to show you what I mean by that phrase. Your manuscript will be full of changes and suggestions, not just comments, and my editorial letter and comments will clearly outline those changes. My super power is identifying themes in your work and building stronger character arcs. My favorite works are those that inspire and teach the reader, especially through personal experience.

Testimonials

"Corbin, you’re brilliant. Love (and hate) your edits – exactly what I’ve been trying to do, but have been unable to see/do. I feel hopeful that with your help, this could be a book worth reading."

Jane Boulware, CVP at Microsoft and author of UnWorthy

"Another great point! I felt something was missing, but did not know what. You gave me the answer. Thank you very, very much for your corrections and comments. What a thorough job you have done. Your encouragement really helps me."

Kent Wong, MD and author of Swimming to Freedom

"I'm up to about chapter 17 in the first run through and it really is reading a lot more smoothly. I am very happy with how you are working. It flows better and you cut out some of the extraneous asides or over-documentation. Joseph and I deeply appreciate your work.

~ David Kopacz, MD and Joseph Rael (Beautiful Painted Arrow) author of Becoming Medicine winner of Gold Nautilus Book Award
