Conrad Burnham – Editor

I have been a long time reader, starting out by reading manuscripts and screenplays of friends and coworkers. After over a decade of working in rare books I decided to move over to editorial work. Once I completed my studies at UCLA I started proofreading for Soho Press, copyediting for Zoë Ruiz, and providing script coverage for a production company.

As an editor I try to make my edits and suggestions warm and encouraging in a conversational manner. I try to come from a place of understanding (I'm a writer as well) and give notes in a kind way that strives to help the writer see possibilities for their work. With clients, we often will have conversations about why, what and where a piece should go. We don't stop at the marks. To me, this is the kind of relationship I hope for when looking for editors for my own work.
