Chris Scotcher – Designer

I am a highly experienced designer with over 15 years in the industry, including more than 13 years specialising in publishing design with over 300 titles published. As Senior Designer at Oxford University Press, I bring deep expertise across a wide range of book subjects for both UK and international markets. Blending creative versatility with a strong understanding of editorial and production workflows, I produce print and digital designs with a distinctive and creative visual style. I excel at transforming complex content into clear, engaging, and visually coherent products — whether for covers, interiors, or digital formats.

I also have extensive production management experience from my years in publishing, overseeing projects from initial concept through to final delivery. This includes coordinating freelancers, such as illustrators and fellow designers and working closely with editors and printers to build efficient schedules and detailed workflows that keep projects on track. I’m confident managing titles of any scale and use my deep industry knowledge to guide each project smoothly through the publishing process, ensuring every product meets the high standards I consistently work to.
