Becky Wyde – Editor

I'm Becky, a creative and collaborative editor with over 8 years experience in the publishing industry. I love working creatively with authors to make sure your book perfectly aligns with your vision.

I'm currently a Senior Editor at a Big 5 publisher in their children's division, and have worked at several other large publishers over the last few years. I've worked on many different types of formats including lift-the-flap novelty, crime/thriller, romance, picture books, black and white chapter books and academic monographs - I've had to be able to be extremely adaptable, versatile and ready for a challenge!

As well as my roles in-house I have worked freelance as a copyeditor and proofreader, and have developed a sixth sense for smoothing out a sentence or picking up errors. My experience across a wide range of genres has given me excellent and broad market knowledge and the ability to quickly decode the most important aspects of any book, and what it will need to hit with its audience.

I love the process of developing character, smoothing out sentences and inconsistencies until you hit upon that special feeling when reading an edited manuscript. To me, editing is a collaborative process - a great author and editor together can be an unstoppable team, and I really value the chance to support you in making the book the best it can possibly be.
