A Designer and Art Director with over 30 years experience in Music and Publishing.
I am a Designer and Art Director and have enjoyed working in London for over 30 years in the Music Industry and Publishing, both in-house and freelancing. These include Warner Music, East West Records, Carlton, Bloomsbury, Farshore and DK. I have worked on internationally recognised book designs and music projects, with a specialism in book covers for both adults and children.
I currently work for diverse clients on varying subject matters. More recently I have started to work more with independent publishers on subjects from Jazz to the Civil War, developing ideas with authors and using my skills to produce the book they always wanted to publish. I thrive on the diversity.
I have an MA in Communication Design (distinction) achieved after returning to study having worked in industry for many years. Returning to college fuelled new enthusiasm, passion, ideas and excitement for new work. It also meant no more commuting, far less meetings and Xcel documents, and working from home in a shed.
I can provide covers and interiors for your project, breaking down the process into stages from concept to delivering files for print, with enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism.
If you would like me to design your project, please do get in touch.
My visual research and creative skills have been challenged and redefined since completing my MA. I have worked in Publishing for many years and now work independently for numerous and varied publishers including: Carlton Books, Farshore, Bloomsbury, Aurum Press, Dorling Kindersley.
