Overview

When designing a book, I love playing with grids, typography and images, to create connection between pages and sections. I am excellent at collecting material, organizing it and giving it a form, always striving to obtain simplicity and elegance, while possibly surprising the client, the reader and myself.

I think working collaboratively with the client is essential to the design process, starting from the original concept all the way to refining the smallest details and selecting print finishing.

I specialise in non-fiction, reports, photography books, books about architecture and book covers. I also love designing children books.

My experiences include freelancing for Chronicle Books, volunteering as a book designer for 826 Valencia, working with first time authors and supporting smaller realities, such as non-profits and architecture studios, and their editorial needs.

The languages I can work with are English, Italian, Spanish and German.

I used Margherita's design skill on my first-ever published book of poetry and short essays. My original request stated that I wanted a cover that looked "smart, professional and fabulous." With Margherita's help, I got all three. She managed beautifully all my quirky instincts, and was fun to work with.

Margherita was very nice and sweet to work with. We had an initial zoom call before we were set to start, and she answered all of my questions. She showed me how my book would look like both in print and online. This was my first time working with an international interior designer. I hope to work with her again for my cover and back cover designs.
