Hi there! I'm Alayna, and I've been a freelance copyeditor for a big-five publisher for seven years. I have experience copyediting and fact-checking both fiction and nonfiction works. I primarily edit in accordance with Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster, but I would be happy to follow different style guides if requested. I have extensive experience editing contemporary romance and romantic comedies, as well as numerous works of fantasy, historical fiction, and memoirs.

I'm passionate about making amazing stories even better by fixing the small stuff, so you can focus on the big stuff. As I copyedit, I always track things like timeline and character traits to catch anything amiss. I'll also fact-check when appropriate, like making sure your character's road trip route makes sense on Google maps. You don't need to know when to use "if I were" versus "if I was;" that's what I'm here for!
