Overview
Hello,
I am Ajubel, an illustrator based in Valencia, Spain, with many years of experience in editorial illustration and children's and young adult books. Among my most notable works are Robinson Crusoe, a wordless graphic novel that won five international awards (including the Bologna Ragazzi Award), and Rudyard Kipling's The Cat That Walked by Himself, which was selected by Apple to promote the first iPad Mini in 2012. I was also awarded the National Children's and Young Adult Illustration Award in 2003.
Having worked on numerous publishing commissions, all of which required exploring different tools and techniques to illustrate and enrich the story, has given me the ability to immerse myself completely in the process of communication through visual imagery. I believe in reading between the lines of written language and telling the story in an unexpected and innovative way, while maintaining the author's perspective, voice, and intention. My role is to create and conceptualize visually striking and rich illustrations that bring your story to life and create a product that we are both passionate about and proud of.
I would be delighted to help you bring your project to life. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Let's get started!
