Overview
I bring a deeply author-centric and collaborative approach to my work. In every edit, my priority is to honor the author’s vision while elevating the manuscript to its strongest possible version—both creatively and commercially.
I specialize in book club fiction, romance, historical fiction, mysteries, and thrillers.
In 2021, after two decades as an acquisitions editor, I founded a freelance company to provide coaching and editorial services to authors, agents, and publishers. Since then, more than fifty manuscripts I’ve edited have gone on to traditional publication. Recent highlights include The Sideways Life of Denny Voss, long-listed for the 2025 Giller Prize and currently nominated for the 2026 Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original.
Previously, I spent a decade as Executive Editor at Amazon Publishing’s Lake Union imprint, which I co-founded and developed into a leading commercial fiction imprint. As a founding editor, I built the list from the ground up, acquiring and editing 16–24 titles each year across contemporary fiction, historical fiction, romance, mystery, and suspense. Many of these titles went on to become Wall Street Journal and Washington Post bestsellers.
Prior to Amazon Publishing, I was Executive Editor at Chronicle Books, where I acquired and edited nonfiction in categories including entertainment, parenting, mind/body/spirit, gardening, and travel. I originated book ideas and partnered with leading brands and personalities such as Pixar, Disney, HBO, and Bobbi Brown.
