Overview

Hi, I am WJ.

I'm a responsible illustrator who always tries his best to listen to the clients' needs. I have been freelancing for over 12 years now.

Some of my experiences include : books, posters, character designs, animation, cartoons, caricatures, and etc.

The list of my former clients include : Numbers of Korean government departments, museums, Samsung, LG, Kiehl's, numerous book publishers, schools, etc.

Most of my recent projects are focused on but not limited to book illustrations. The first priority for me is to meet the deadline with the client with the best result possible. I spend enough time sharing the ideas and provide sketches and rough schedule so everyone involved knows where I am on the job. Of course I provide 2-3 minor changes afterwards for free because it's essential to satisfy both ends.

As I mentioned on top, I recently transitioned to a new country. This means I am building my clients up here from the scratch. IN other words, I will devote myself to satisfy you! :D

Working with me will be pleasant because not only I will try my best to deliver the images you want, but because I will also be your good friend. Please feel free to contact me.

Work experience

Self-employed

Oct, 2010 — Present

For the past 12 years+, I have been a freelance illustrator, animator, and a cartoonist. As you can read from my overview I worked on various projects with numerous renowned clients.

Books : Most of times a graphic designer contacts me and I work to deliver images corresponding to the stories. Some were picture books and some were essays. I worked for both adults and children's books. What the clients expect the most is many times for the artist to meet the deadline. It's me. And of course the art work. It's me.

Magazines : Working on the editorial images are somewhat different from the books of course. Thought it's more conceptual, my tendency still makes me to specialize in line work and the circumstantial images rather than abstract images.

co.Aniframe

Jan, 2008 — Sep, 2010 (over 2 years)

Aniframe is a Seoul based company where it makes huge digital images and movies for companies like LG for CEShow or IFA show. Back in 2008 when I started, I learned the basics of what I know now. I was an animator, illustrator and a translator.
Every time a new project starts, I delivered new storyboards and character designs. As it always is with your first years, there were a lot to learn just to understand I didn't know much. But I did my best to survive and became a worthy employee.
