I design book covers, along with associated publicity material, including work for respected independent genre imprints such as ChiZine, Undertow Publications and Unsung Stories. As well as working as a designer, I'm a reader and also (secretly) a writer. I understand how important it is for a book's cover to respect, connect to and -- if possible -- distill, its contents.
I work with Undertow Publication's Michael Kelly, to source artwork and produce original wrap-around cover designs. Starting with Shadows And Tall Trees 7, we've recently started producing special edition hardback editions with variant covers.
Artists featured in the gallery below include: Alex Andreev, Carolina Rodriguez Fuenmayor, Yaroslav Gerzhedovich, Marcela Bolivar, Beatriz Martin Vidal, Tran Nguyen, Tomasz Alen Kopera and Santiago Caruso. More details, including links to the respective artist's portfolio's can be found on my website (barquing.com).
I work with clients to design and produce cover concepts, either from scratch or working with licensed artwork.
Clients include: Undertow Publications, ChiZine Publications, Pearson Education, Elsevier Science, Oxford University Press, Inspired Quill, TTA Press.
