Once upon a time I was a senior editor in Toronto at Harlequin/HarperCollins (action/adventure, dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, clean romances and sexy reads). Today I work in front of the fireplace in my red-brick century home in Cambridge, Ont., for a wonderfully eclectic clientele of authors, each passionate about telling their story and building their readership.
As an editor and writer with extensive experience in books and magazines, I believe editing is about recognizing patterns, intentional and unintentional, and helping an author to focus their book into the highest-impact page-turner of a story possible. Regardless of genre.
