Valerie Parizeault – Designer

I'm a published children's book illustrator and author working from Shediac, New Brunswick, where I specialize in picture books, middle grade fiction, and editorial projects that connect with young readers.

My picture book Bon voyage Monsieur Flacon was published by Éditions Bouton d'or Acadie in 2025, with another book coming from Québec-Amérique in 2026. My work has also appeared in Honest History, BrainSpace Magazine, and Grilled Cheese Magazine (where I snuck in two short stories too).

I love designing fun, memorable characters that kids and parents both adore. I blend traditional and digital techniques to create illustrations with rich texture and energy—art that feels both classic and fresh. Whether it's a whimsical picture book, a moody middle grade cover, or editorial work that needs personality, I love diving into projects that tell a great story.

With 26 years experience in illustration, graphic design and art direction (plus degrees in Graphic Design and Visual Art from UQAM), I bring a sharp creative eye and serious collaboration skills to every project. I work in both English and French, and I'm always up for a new creative challenge.

When I'm not at my drawing table with a coffee in hand, you'll find me walking the Maritime coastline with my black Lab, Java, gathering inspiration.
