Stephanie White

Stephanie White – Editor

Copyeditor and Proofreader for Romance, Romantasy, and Fantasy—Specializing in Series Continuity and Worldbuilding

Overview

OPENINGS STARTING NOV 1

You didn't write your book with endless hours of uninterrupted time.

You wrote it between work, family responsibilities, appointments, errands, and everything else life demanded of you. You squeezed writing sessions into lunch breaks and weekends. You stayed up late when everyone else was asleep.

And somehow, you finished.

Now you're ready to prepare your manuscript for readers—but you don't have the time or energy to become an expert in grammar, punctuation, consistency, and publishing standards, too.

That's where I come in.

I'm Stephanie, a professional copyeditor and proofreader specializing in romance, romantasy, and fantasy. I help busy authors polish their manuscripts, catch distracting errors, and keep complicated stories consistent while preserving the voice and storytelling that make their work uniquely theirs.

Whether you're self-publishing, querying agents, or preparing the next book in a series, my goal is simple: to take some of the editorial weight off your shoulders so you can move toward publication with confidence.

COPYEDITING

A copyedit provides your manuscript with a professional set of eyes.

I'll review grammar, punctuation, spelling, clarity, consistency, readability, repeated words, and other distracting issues while respecting your unique voice. You'll receive tracked edits and queries, so you remain in control of every change, along with a detailed style sheet documenting editorial decisions, character details, spelling preferences, and important worldbuilding information.

You wrote the story. My job is to help make sure the details support it.

PROOFREADING

After multiple rounds of revisions, you're probably ready to hit publish and move on to the next thing. But revisions can introduce new errors, and even carefully edited manuscripts benefit from one final professional review.

Proofreading is the last quality check before publication. I'll review your manuscript for remaining typos, grammar and punctuation errors, formatting inconsistencies, repeated or missing words, and other small mistakes.

The goal is simple: to help ensure readers stay immersed in your story instead of being distracted by avoidable errors.

THE COMPLETE MANUSCRIPT PACKAGE

For authors who want support through the final stages of publication, I offer a discounted copyediting and proofreading package.

Your manuscript first receives a comprehensive copyedit. After you review your edits and make revisions, I'll perform a final proofreading pass to catch remaining errors and issues introduced during revision.

One editor. Two essential stages. Less for you to keep track of.

SERIES CONTINUITY & WORLDBUILDING

Writing a series means keeping track of more than what happens in the current book—and the more books you write, the more details there are to remember.

I specialize in tracking characters, relationships, timelines, locations, magic systems, technology, lore, important objects, and ongoing plot threads to help keep your fictional world cohesive.

My editing philosophy is simple: good editing should strengthen your manuscript without changing what makes it yours.

You've already invested enormous time and energy into your story. My job is to help protect that investment by removing distractions, maintaining consistency, and giving your manuscript the careful attention it deserves.

Stephanie did an excellent job copyediting my manuscript, catching structural and formatting issues while fully respecting my choice of deep POV. She also spotted a missing section in my manuscript and helped me resolve it quickly.

I didn't give 5 stars to each one just to give a review. I believe she earned them.

I highly recommend using Stephanie for your editing needs. She polished my romance-fantasy manuscript, making my work stronger and ready for readers, and gave it the professional touch it was lacking. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to grammar, formatting, punctuation, sentence flow,...

I am grateful I found Stephanie. I was skeptical when creating my account and just providing my work to someone. She made me feel much better and gave me the confidence to continue with the process of publishing my book. I hope I get to work with her again

Stephanie was exactly what I hoped for in a copyeditor. She brought care, precision, and insight to the manuscript without ever being heavy-handed. She respected my writing style and the individual voices of my characters, while still knowing exactly where to refine and strengthen the work. The ...
