Simon Toseland

Simon Toseland – Ghostwriter

Award-winning ghostwriter, author and editor. Works with private clients, businesses, celebrities and publishers in a wide range of genres.

Overview

I have worked in the publishing and media industries for the past twenty years, with organisations including Channel Four, Access Hollywood, Canongate, Random House and HarperCollins as well as private clients.

I have written and ghosted many books in different genres including fiction, celebrity, humour, sports, language, food and drink, adventure and business. My services cover everything from editorial advice to overseeing a book from inception to publication. I respond quickly and honestly to requests for information about timescales, costs and scope of the work as I know that a positive ghostwriting experience begins with the establishment of trust and empathy. Good communication is vital throughout the process, it must be an enjoyable experience for both parties.

'A writer with a fabulous eye for oddity, and such an ear for the cadences of talk.' - Tessa Hadley, novelist.

‘I’d recommend Simon to anyone thinking of writing a book. Get him to do it instead – it’s easier.’ – James May, television presenter.

Simon met with him face-to-face discussed, the format and then helped with each chapter as they progressed. Meetings were monthly and Simon produced a chapter each month. It was truly a gift getting to work with Simon on my fantasy novel. From the beginning, Simon was honest about the work that needed to be done and had the vision to get my book there. We had facetime conversations on the project before we started. In a few short weeks, he had an outline and goal for my book. He stayed true to my story, reshaped it as needed, and provided constructive feedback. ...

Simon was great! He listened and understood what I was trying to achieve and was incredibly helpful in getting me there. He was very honest about what my MS needed and helped me understand that in many cases less is more. Highly recommend!
