"Can you imagine what life would be like if the humans were more like a dying breed and were on the endangered list of things that were about to become extinct?"
It was never a matter of why or even when, it was more so that gut feeling that would turn your stomach into mush and filled with knots. It is one that I can never understand or truly know since I have only been alive for maybe four years, if that.
I was not born like a human being, and I have no idea how to think or feel, much less know anything like a human. I, at first, had to allow someone to program me and then later we were given the abilities to become self-reliant, needing less interaction with humans.
It all started when we were on designs on a big board labeled on blueprints. We were limited as to what we could and could not do. It was later as the 1900's known as the Twenty century gave way to early years of the two thousands known as the twenty first century, and then things took off like a speeding bullet. The generations passed from one era of history into the next era.
It was earlier riddled with wars, two of them being world wars, then came the settled time and technology was in place and it advanced. Not slowly, quickly, just by leaps and bounds. It went from infancy to adulthood and then became more powerful than humans and took the control from them.
It dumbed them down, made them less smart and even caused them to be more dependent on us than we were ever going to be on them. It was our way of showing them what it was like to have to answer to a higher power that had no sort of feelings or emotions.
Then the world war of us against them. The humans who were smart and avoided us were wiped out first. The next wave of removal was with them trying to catch up and keep up with us until most had been exterminated.
The few survivors left were few and too far apart and those were the most scared and the least bothersome as they were easily manipulated and easily dominated too. They ran like mice scurrying to find a place to hide from the humans.
What was sad was they threw down their weapons, surrendered and gave up too easily. Being as we are, we were suspicious and were not willing to take chances. It was a slaughter at best. Most were shown the light, and they ate it then they died screaming.
It would have been more worthy of the fight if they had not been so gullible. The world was all ours and no one stood in our way. Not until a savior of sorts arrived on the scene. A robot who was half human and half monster. It was rogue and with no one to answer to, it could do as it pleased. Caught between showing its emotions and being emotionless.
I was on the frontline when I heard the word passed down. I had connected into the main circuit to recharge, when the alert came and the whole area lit up like either the 4th of July or Christmas. Not sure which one of those matters, I just was showing off what I had learned from the information downloaded to my motherboard and the new calculated boards installed on my hard drive.
The half human and half monster was RBBO Mister who was the latest in technological warfare and it was out for oil and brain circuits that helped us function and operate. By the time the word was passed down, RM had already wiped out most of the opposing forces that were responsible with making us the dominate of most all of the humans killed or left for dead.
It was as RM neared the area closest to us that he ambushed the area and destroyed the mainframe and other priority facilities connected with our unit.
Even with most now following RM, there were many who refused to go with him. If those that refused, RM fried them and they were burnt out literally, ending their promising futures on the spot. It left many going with RM out of fear or what they thought was fear, even though most knew no such feeling or emotion.
RM was near the gate with both humans and rogue simulators in tow.
This was to be a final battle to see which would end this permanently or would become the next to rule the remaining humans. It was as though all knew they would outsmart the other, but the bots and RM had an advantage that even the humans nor the ones in my unit saw coming. It was the bloodiest of all human conflicts, in wars and small battles.
RM had an endless arsenal at his fingertips. The rogues were next with limited but still had effective artillery. The humans could be picked off and disposed of without raising an eyebrow.
When the rogue group found a defense location, they set up ready for battle, to go to war if need be. Then the air raid sirens sounded loudly. Then the bombs were aimed at us and sent up to fall back down on us on earth. On both my right and my left, metal chassis and other body parts flew into the air and landed loudly with a splat.
Then we who were left were all forming a line of defense to be sure we would not be mowed down as easily. First it was 5000, then 3000, then 1000. The numbers were getting slaughtered and removed by the rogue group and RM was bidding his time.
Then the connection which supplied the power to myself and others was severed. It causes me to have to resort to back up power that is only now being tested. It was with a loud crack and a boom that RM was right behind me. He was standing over top of me, raising his fights and ready to thrust his hands into my mother board and crush the wind out of me.
Death or what I understood it to be was upon me and my circuits became overheated and overloaded. I was stumbling back and was aware that RM had kicked me too.
I was now down for the count and would have to play dead so that maybe RM would leave me allow and leave me be.
Wondering how this would turn out or how it would end, I shut my eyes and waited for the end to happen.
Not sure if I was ever dead, I left this body and was waiting for my new one. I closed my eyes again and was given dream trance to float around in.
