Adventure Drama Mystery

Oh, the cat was tired of being inside the pumpkin that had made its life a miserable hell, since it was first on the scene, thirty-one days before his Halloween.

Damn Jack-o-lantern had been its own worst enemy since it was given the free will to become whatever it wanted to be, unless being Jill-o-lantern was a choice. Sitting on the front porch stoop was not a choice it wanted to make in the first place.

It was not happy with the Mr. & Mrs. Plump Potato Head twins, not happy with the outcome of Jack the Frost being so frigid and cold, or as he seemed to be. Was not happy with the Buzz Lightyear, or Cody the cowboy, or even Slinkly the spring action springer, and definitely not happy with the rest of the gang that plagued the landscape looking for a way to get settled.

Oh, settled was not an option and the longer you stayed in one place for too long, then you were to become immortalized by the ideas that filled your hollow brain and were etched into your outer designed shell that was the form you became.

Picholy, was the cat who had been kidnapped by the Jack-o-lantern, on that faithful day hours before Halloween made their arrival. It was with sweets and treats that both were lured into the inside of the pumpkin who would steal more than a tradition, but would redesign his outsides and his faithful, trusted companion, Hurly Woolly, the short lengthen animated flying stretch dog.

Jack-o-lantern was not one to live by the same set of rules placed before them each time the Halloween happen to be passing by. Some of the other characters that represented the Halloween, whether directly or indirectly, were no less content or acceptable of their infringed rights as display objects.

The rights as presented were none the less a trickery way for keeping those in line and at the beck and call of all who served Halloween.

It made the moment less fun and more uniformed in its operations and how things had not changed for many years, especially since the great uprising of 1932. But then the sided rivalry section bided for allegiance which led to lots of the former massive toy created to fall silent and become obsolete.

The ones sparred were Jack-o-lantern, Hurly Woolly, and the cat that had been kidnapped by Jack/Jill. "Was this a mutiny or a coup over throwing?" "Or was Jack/Jill trying to make a simple point in fighting for the little characters' rights?"

"The world may never know or care." Stated Jack/Jill loudly. Hurly Woolly chimed in next. "We need to find out who is the victims and who are the bullies." The cat was snarling and flicking his clawed paws like a champion fighter. The cat had not been named yet nor had a voice to speak with. Just a simple meow was heard from down below.

Then a storm of bug spray and mini nets were thrown and landed on the 3 as they seem caught up in the moment. motionless.

The humans were not amused, and the characters were less than thrilled, Halloween arrived in a mess of cluttered debris, and half standing buildings. It was as though the moment had sealed the doom and gloom of those who would not survive the cloud of dust and radiation.

A voice was heard from the cat finally, but no one heard the voice. The characters were not alive when the humans arrived, and the humans were too adult to either notice or care because there was an unforeseen war approaching in the distance.

The machines would destroy the humans. The humans would alleviate the machines, while the characters would be covered in the dust and debris, that laid to waste when the bombs hit their targets. It was chaos run amuck and there was no end in sight.

The night was still. The humans who had been there before were running off towards the fighting, so the characters were left to fend for themselves. As the shelling was closing in, Jack/Jill and Hurley Woolly were trying to move, at least to get out of the way and live for another day.

They both could not know that they were no longer in one piece. Cat was not as lucky to remain stable. The wind picked them up and flung them out into the darkness. That was the last thing cat seen or knew before landing on a mattress that had seen better days before the war.

The cat was out for what seemed like an eternity. It was very dark and very spooky with no lights on and no one nearby. Cat jumped off the half-torn mattress, that had spared their life. Shaking pretty badly from the shock and noise, cat made their way back down the toppled buildings and torn streets, arriving as Jack/Jill and Hurley Woolly were about to scream at the sight they noticed.

In pieces and filled with more holes that a target on the gun range, they both either been ripped in half or were laying a piece here and a piece there. Cat was not able to understand how they were still alive. Jack/Jill and Hurley Woolly were dragging themselves towards their body parts in hopes they could reattach themselves and then run like hell away from this area.

Then out of nowhere Halloween showed, without a mask and with a correct body, lowered itself like a transformer, and begin to repair and reattach the two split characters to make them whole again.

The other hidden characters were able to see Halloween's handiwork and with a whispered cheering, they all witnessed this triumph and were part of the celebrations.

It was then that all who were there, felt being lifted upwards, into the brightest light they had ever seen, into a cargo bay transporter, and Cat was placed in charge. The transporter, rose up above the war, and vanished in a split millisecond.

Earth, leveled Earth was no more and the humans would have to end this by ending their own desolated lives. Cat would soon forget the humans that had died protecting them.

The farthest star that shone in the sky that night was the transporter warp speeding off into Galaxy Outer Space, never to return and soon to be forgotten.
