Overview
I am a conscientious and enthusiastic professional indexer of academic books and journals. My subject specialisms are in geography, environmental/earth science, economics and social sciences, which build on knowledge gained in my 1st class honours Geography degree from Cambridge University and career in environmental consultancy.
Since I started indexing in 2012 I have always loved the work. In part I enjoy the excuse to read a wide range of subject matter; beyond that there is something very satisfying about the process of organising and mapping out the information for the index, creating a product that captures the text's key concepts and providing multiple routes into that for users. I gained Advanced Professional Member status with the Society of Indexers (UK) in 2017.
My clients include Cambridge University Press, Taylor & Francis, and Duke University Press.
