Overview
I'm a developmental editor, line editor, writing coach, and publishing consultant based in New York, with fifteen years of experience and more than 200 book-length manuscripts across fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, and academic writing.
The work I find most rewarding is the earliest and messiest: sitting with a writer in the development phase, when the book is still becoming itself. First drafts, structural overhauls, manuscripts that don't yet know what they are — that's where I do my best work. I specialize in one-on-one collaboration with authors over the long haul, and I've developed a particular expertise working with neurodiverse and neuroatypical writers, tailoring the editorial process to how each writer actually thinks rather than imposing a standard template.
That said, I can take a writer all the way through. Through my work as head editor and as publishing director, I've guided authors through every stage of the publication process — developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, query letters, agent submissions, book proposals, and publication itself. If you need someone who can see the whole road, I can do that too.
On the academic side, I've worked with university presses including Cornell, Stanford, the University of Chicago, Indiana, and Harvard Education, as well as the RAND Corporation and Palgrave Macmillan. I've also supported ESL authors preparing work for peer-reviewed journal submission.
I hold a BA in English Writing from Pomona College, where I was selected as a Writing Fellow. Expert knowledge of Chicago; working knowledge of AP and AMA.
