Overview
I’m a book designer with 25 years of experience. My work is elegant, typography-led, and detail-oriented, crafted to make your story look polished and professional. I also experiment with type design, bringing a nuanced understanding of letterforms to every project.
Alongside books, I’ve also designed magazines, an experience that sharpened my eye for layout, readability, and refined page composition. I bring this expertise to every project, ensuring covers and interiors are visually balanced, engaging, and tailored to your audience.
I’m comfortable working across a broad spectrum of genres — from fiction and nonfiction to essays, illustrated titles, artist books, and children’s literature — always adapting my approach to the tone, voice, and purpose of each project.
Working with me is precise and collaborative. I focus on clear communication, meeting deadlines, and translating your vision into a finished product that stands out. Whether you’re an indie author or working with a small publisher, my goal is to deliver designs that elevate your book and captivate readers.
My interest in type design led me to create Joan a Google Font, which expanded my understanding of letterforms and their expressive potential. I’ve also developed plugins for Adobe XD and add-ons for Adobe Express translating design thinking into practical resources for others.
Outside of design, I have a strong appreciation for art — especially modern and contemporary — and enjoy visiting museums.
