Nicholas is a professional children’s illustrator based in Cheshire, England.

Nicholas finds illustrations incredibly powerful, conveying more than words alone. A subtle eyebrow raise or a quick glance can create a dynamic and successful picture book illustration. Nicholas enjoys adding Easter eggs to his stories, ensuring readers discover something new with each enjoyment.

The Process -To create a successful children’s picture book, Nicholas approaches the manuscript with an open mind, inspired by Maurice Sendak’s quote: ‘If you have one style, then you’re going to do the same book over and over…’ Each picture book should have its unique style to match its soul.

Nicholas collaborates closely with his clients to ensure the style aligns with the story.

Nicholas has moved from working digitally to traditional methods - using coloured pencils and gouache to create his charming illustrations.
