Natashya Wilson

Natashya Wilson – Editor

Developmental and line editor with 25+ years experience, specializing in romance, YA, fantasy, women's fiction, and commercial fiction.

Overview

I am a professional book editor with 25+ years experience working in traditional publishing and as a freelance editor, specializing in manuscript and proposal assessment, developmental editing, line editing (included under the umbrella of copy editing here at Reedsy), copywriting, and intellectual property development.

My areas of expertise include romance of all sub-genres, young adult fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy, and women's fiction. I was part of the inception and launch of the heroine-led Silhouette Bombshell series as well as Harlequin Teen/Inkyard Press and have experience acquiring, editing, and publishing books by authors at all levels, from sparkling debuts to NYT and USA Today bestselling superstars. I love to be engaged and enchanted by a good story, and I'm here to help you make yours all you envision.

I love horses, chocolate, coffee, and a good book, in any order. I detest extraneous adverbs and dangling modifiers. I'm a sucker for a great cover, but the read had better live up to it.

"Tashya is one of the best editors I've worked with in my decade-long career. Not only does she have an eagle eye for grammar, she has the creative chops necessary for developmental editing and is willing (and happy!) to put in the time to work through plot and character development issues. She's amazing."

--New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Tashya is pure editing magic--and a big reason why my fantasy series hit the New York Times list."

--Laurie Forest, New York Times, USA Today, & internationally bestselling author of The Black Witch Chronicles

"I worked with Natashya on many of my young adult novels, and she offered keen, insightful observations and suggestions. She always went above and beyond to help me see the nuts and bolts of my story and craft the best tale possible." --New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter

"Tashya is an amazing editor whose long-term industry experience, extensive knowledge, and editorial eye have helped me take the plot, pacing, and character development in my women's fiction novel from somewhat readable to a fast-paced, exciting page-turner. She spent countless hours on my manuscript to better understand the characters' needs and internal/external conflicts to better drive the story forward. She is down-to-earth, encouraging, fun, and easy to work with, and she challenged me to become a better author. I've worked with Tashya for two years and cannot recommend a better editor to work with if you're looking to take your writing to the next level!" --Amanda Lillian
