I've been working in publishing for more than 15 years, in traditional houses and independently. I specialize in developmental editing, which is macro-level, structural review of a manuscript that shapes the big-picture content, organization, and argument before any sentence-level polishing takes place (definition from Chicago Manual of Style). I can also provide early-stage draft consultation or book coaching, and later-stage copyediting and proofreading.

Most of my published work has been in educational publishing. I've worked on IPPY (Independent Publisher Book Awards) winners, Foreword Indies winners, and Amazon best sellers. I've dealt with a range of topics, including AI, classroom equity, financial planning, trauma work, literacy, and American immigrant stories. I've worked with in-house styles guides, as well as CMOS, MLA, APA, and Bluebook.

My personal passion fiction genres are romance (historical, queer, romantasy) and epic fantasy, and I'm building my editorial repertoire in those areas too. My style is thoughtful, calm, and warm.
