Overview
Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. I've been working in publishing since 2013, and as a freelancer since 2019. In this time I've worked for clients such as Simon & Schuster, Yale University Press, Fitzcarraldo Editions, I.B. Tauris, Bloomsbury, Boldwood Books and Oldcastle Books, as well as independent authors.
Perhaps you need a professional editor to comb through your manuscript to straighten things out at a sentence level: grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, clarity of meaning. In this case, I'd advise you to email me about my copyediting work.
If your project is closer to the finish line, and you just need a proofread to find the small errors that have slipped through - I can help with this too!
It could be you're not sure of the service your work needs, in which case we can have a chat and work this out together.
I recognise that any editorial process is a collaborative one, and that ultimately preserving the author's voice and tweaking the text for the intended readership are key.
Booking me means you'll get a listening ear, a sharp eye for detail, an understanding of publishing trends and conventions, constructive but kind criticism, and a respect for the intention and purpose of the writing - regardless of style or genre.
