I've been working for over a decade as a freelance professional illustrator across publishing, fashion, and product illustration. My book illustration work includes cover illustrations, spot illustrations, and decorative endpapers for Macmillan, HarperCollins, Tor Books and Little Brown among others, with a focus on literary Fantasy, Folklore, Magical Realism and upmarket fiction.

MY PROCESS

I begin by reading the manuscript synopsis and am happy to take guidance from any mood boards you've put together.

Once I have your brief, I'll come back with two or three sketched concept options. We pick a direction, with a round of amends to refine the chosen sketch. From there, I'll develop colouring options, one more set of amends if needed, before moving to the final illustration. It's a structure that gives you control at each decision point.

I'm also happy to scale the scope of a project to suit different budgets, whether that's a fully illustrated wraparound or a more focused front-cover commission, I can shape the work to fit what you're able to invest.

All of my work is hand illustrated. Either digitally, with traditional materials, or a hybrid of both.
