Kathy McIntosh

Kathy McIntosh – Editor

Editor with more than a decade of experience helping writers create and finish their best work.

Overview

I am a copy editor and proofreader with an eye for typos, grammar and great writing. I specialize in fiction but have edited business books and articles. My edits and comments, almost always delivered with kindness, but always with honesty, are intended to help you improve your current manuscript and grow into the writer you're meant to be. Clients tell me I'm excellent at improving clarity while maintaining their individual voices.
I have a passion for words and know I can help you hone yours. I am also a fiction writer, so I truly understand the pain of birthing a book. Let me be your editorial midwife!

A few comments from my clients:

If you are looking for an editor who is a seasoned grammarian and also respectful to the author's voice, I highly recommend Kathy. She is professional, timely, and honors the author's overall vision.

Lisa J. MacDonald, Step It Up Enterprises

I have hired Kathy to edit two of my novels and intend to continue using her in the future. She’s reasonable, quick and does excellent work. Highly recommended.

Holand Peterson — author of Eville, Eville’s Most Wanted, and The Eville Protection Plan

A top editor is the greatest resource for aspiring and established writers. Kathy’s ability to add clarity to my words while retaining my authentic voice, make her, for me, one of the top editors in America. Kathy has edited my last two books and more than 500 articles for me. When I submit excerpts from the books or articles to magazines or other publications, not one has been changed by the acquiring editors.

Thank you! Those are the very first words that come to mind as I reflect back on Kathy's work. A job well done, indeed. I felt very comfortable communicating with Kathy via phone and email. She got it. What I mean, is that Kathy was able to grasp the essence of my story, including the era and the characters. With that in mind, she was able to gear her editing to coincide with the colloqui...
