But first, let me introduce myself. I'm Katerina, a freelance illustrator based in Athens, Greece. I've always loved stories; whether it's reading, listening, watching, or even writing them myself. However, what I enjoy most is illustrating them.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Visual Communication from the University of Westminster, London (2017). Spending my afternoons in London’s bookshops, somewhere in the children’s section, sparked my love for creating eye-catching covers, illustrative typography and memorable characters.

Since then, I've been fortunate to work with major Greek publishers, such as Psichogios Publications, Patakis Publishers, and Martis Books, illustrating over 20 children's books.

But enough about me, let's talk about your story and how we'll work together. First, we talk. Whether you have a clear vision or just a rough idea, we start by discussing your book’s themes, characters, and any preferences you may have. If there's a specific piece of my work you like, let me know and we'll take it from there! I create a rough cover proposal and a full storyboard in pencil. If you have a character or scene you’re unsure about, I’ll sketch it out for you. Once you’re happy with the direction, I get to work and I'll be back with the complete illustration and cover art. My creative tools are my iPad and Apple Pencil. I work with an app called Procreate, which gives me creative freedom, flexibility for corrections and access to a variety of brushes, ensuring my lettering always keeps its hand-drawn quality.

I am highly organised (list-making is my hobby) and punctual with deadlines. If something doesn’t feel right (don't worry!), we'll talk it through and make adjustments until the relationship between words and images works for you. I'll make sure every illustration complements your story, so your book feels just as magical as you imagined!
