Karolina Prymaka – Designer

Hi, I'm Karolina, a book-loving designer with over 25 years of experience creating book covers and interiors.

During my 20 years at Thames & Hudson, I had the privilege of working on a wide variety of books alongside authors, editors, illustrators, and artists from around the world. Since then, I've continued to work with publishers and independent authors on projects ranging from fiction and memoir to illustrated and specialist nonfiction titles.

Originally from Poland and raised in Sweden, I discovered graphic design and typography while living in London, where I studied at London College of Communication. London still feels like a second home, although I now live in Pula, Croatia.

One of the things I love most about book design is the opportunity to immerse myself in different subjects, stories, and ideas. I enjoy working across genres and on projects of all sizes, whether they're illustration-led, text-heavy, or somewhere in between.

I believe the best results come from good collaboration. My process usually starts with a conversation about your book, your ideas, and any challenges you're facing. I'll ask plenty of questions, explore different directions, and develop design concepts that reflect your vision while helping your book connect with readers.

Having worked remotely with international teams for many years, I'm comfortable collaborating across distances and pride myself on being reliable and easy to work with. I've never missed a deadline.
