I'm a book designer specializing in the nonfiction market. My perspective is simple: every good book should have a good cover. If you've written something worth reading, you don't want to hold yourself back with a design that makes a less-than-great first impression.

After all, you wouldn't wear your pajamas to a job interview or important presentation! So why not make sure your book looks its best? Because really, your cover is interviewing for its next job and making an important presentation every time someone looks at it!
