Jessica C. – Designer

Hey there! I am a digital illustrator and graphic designer with a love for books and storytelling.

Admittedly, I am relatively new to the book design industry however I have over three years worth of freelancing experience in custom digital illustration and graphic design… and many more years of working on personal projects out of sheer passion and curiosity.

My experience also includes working a graphic designer and illustrator in a corporate environment with tasks such as designing aesthetically pleasing lookbooks, catalogues and presentations for art, mirrors and frames; as well as illustrating art that is printed, framed and sold to retailers through the company I worked for.

I have great passion for books and cover design, I enjoy dissecting meaning through text and providing a visual metaphor. My process includes seeking key elements from the text, paying great attention to research and brain storming for a visual that is vibrant, exuberant and that captures the essence of what the author (you!) is trying to convey. My experience with freelancing has taught me communication and adaptability with clients but also a genuine curiosity for what they envision in their mind’s eye. Also my current experience in a professional creative environment has taught me what to really pay attention for when it comes to marketable creative work.

I have a great love for dissecting music, movies and books that evoke an emotional response out of me but also inspire me to do the same with my own art. Let’s work together and bring your story to life with the attention and passion it deserves.
