Former editor at Hachette Book Group, a Big Five publisher, specializing in psychology, memoirs, self-help, and health & wellness.
Hello! I’m Jenn, a project editor based in Boulder, Colorado. If your nonfiction book needs developmental editing, copyediting, or editorial assessment, then I’m the editor for you.
Not sure what kind of editing you need? No problem. Let’s find an intuitive approach for your unique project. And if the thought of navigating the book publishing process alone feels daunting, I can help with that too. Together, we’ll map out your publication plan from beginning to end.
BACKGROUND
I began my editorial career at a small press in Santa Barbara, California. I have since transitioned to trade publishing at a Big Five, Hachette Book Group in Boulder, Colorado.
As a project editor, I work in managing editorial to support authors who write bestselling books in the genres of psychology, anthropology, sociology, political science, self-development, and health & wellness. I make it my priority to communicate openly with my authors, build trust and understanding, provide honest feedback, and help them visualize and reach their publishing goals. I believe that balancing hard work with fun and creativity is the best approach to producing quality content. Most importantly, I aspire to help my authors create their best possible work.

EDUCATION
B.A. Anthropology, Minor in English Literature, Wheaton College (IL), 2013
M.A. Psychology, Antioch University (CA), 2018
As a production editor, I work closely with authors to help clean and perfect their manuscripts before the final pages are sent to press. I conduct copyediting and proofreading, manage freelance processes, and organize production schedules for books under the Hachette Books, Hachette Go, and Running Press imprints. I work with professional authors who are experts on the subjects of psychology, anthropology, political science, pop culture, race and gender issues, feminism, and health & wellness.
I acquired and developed timely manuscripts on the subjects of psychology, political science, pop culture, and American literature. I worked directly with authors on the front end of the publishing process and assisted them as they developed the organization and contents of their books for submission to production. I also composed current events articles for my company’s educational database and created marketing copy for book titles on Amazon.
As an associate editor on the School Library Connection staff, I edited content for the SLC magazine and wrote reviews for psychology reference materials that were published in ABC-CLIO’s renowned American Reference Books Annual (ARBA).
