Overview
I am a developmental and line editor specializing in history, topics in the humanities, and non-fiction literature. I hold a certificate in editing from the University of Chicago.
Early in my career I worked for two publishing houses where I edited manuscripts ranging from non-fiction children's books to cookbooks, so I am comfortable with a wide array of genres. In addition to logging thousands of hours in researching, writing, and editing my dissertation, I have ten years of experience working as a freelance editor, writer, and reviewer for scholarly publications. I'm also a peer-reviewed published author and well-versed in the academic publishing process.
As a fellow writer, it is my goal to be supportive, collaborative, and provide constructive feedback while partnering with you. While I don’t specialize in fiction, I am adept at editing historical fiction and researching various historical periods. If you are looking for an editor who can factcheck and ground the storyline within the historical context for your historical fiction work, I might be the right fit for you.
