Overview
Hello! I like to make difficult (complex, wonkish, uncomfortable, or even gross) subjects approachable, understandable and beautiful.
My goal is to amplify learning by enhancing your research, lessons or stories into engaging visuals. My style is clean and simple.
My process is to deliver first draft illustrations early in our collaboration that are close to the finished product so that you can make modifications and revisions without guess work. Most of the time I will get things very close on the first pass; but I enjoy and value the importance of reviewing and editing to get what it takes for accuracy and achieving just the right look and feel for your project.
I am formally trained with a Master's degree in biomedical illustration. A certification in medical illustration means that I complete required CEUs in art and science every year. My experience opening and running my own illustration studio in Kentucky for over 15 years has taught me to distill ideas into effective, creative visual communication for clients as diverse as science and medicine experts, corporate branding agencies, art directors, courtroom juries and students.
