Drew Dixon

Drew Dixon – Editor

Developmental editor at Penguin Random House specializing in Christian nonfiction, with 15+ years editing and assessing bestselling authors.

Overview

I'm a developmental and acquisitions editor at Penguin Random House with fifteen years of editorial experience specializing in Christian living, spiritual formation, self-help, and memoir. I offer developmental editing, editorial assessment, book coaching, and query letter review. Because I acquire and edit, I know what it takes to write a book that not only finds readers — but gets the attention of agents and publishers.

I believe books can transform lives. My job is to help you write one that actually does.

I've edited authors like John Mark Comer, Mark Batterson, Eugene Peterson, Stephen Chandler, Charles Metcalf, and Jen Pollock Michel. Books I've worked on have sold hundreds of thousands of copies and earned Christianity Today and Gospel Coalition Book of the Year honors. I'm also a writer myself, which means I know the difference between a manuscript that needs rethinking and an author who just needs someone to believe in the book they're clearly trying to write. I'll bring both rigor and belief, honesty and encouragement.

Working with Drew through the developmental edit process was one of those rare creative experiences where the work got challenged without the voice getting lost. From the beginning, there was clear communication. No smoke. No confusion. Just honest conversations about what the book was trying to...
