Overview
Every book is a system — a set of decisions that compound across every page until the reader either trusts the object in their hands or doesn't. I'm Danesh, a Paris-based editorial designer and art director with 12+ years of practice across Mumbai, Dubai, and Paris. I design covers and interiors, but what I'm really doing is building the visual language that carries your story from the first impression to the last page. My work tends to be typographic and grid-driven at its core, but shifts register depending on what the book demands — restrained and tactile for one project, bold and high-contrast for the next. I also teach brand design and editorial strategy to Master's students in Paris — which means I spend as much time thinking about why a design decision works as I do making it.
When you bring me a book, I don't start with aesthetics — I start with the story. What does this book promise its reader? What kind of reader picks it up? What should they feel before they've read a single word? Those answers shape every choice: the typeface, the grid, the weight of a margin, the image or the absence of one. I work across all genres and formats, I handle the full process from concept to print-ready files, and I work in English and French. If you want someone to make your book feel inevitable — let's talk.
