The sun is just beginning to bleed as I open my mailbox. That’s how I’ve always thought of sunsets, even as a young girl. A bleeding sun that melts into the landscape of the bayou, streams of dying sun bouncing off the sluggish water and weaving cracks of light through the somber black willows.
