Jordy awoke groggily, prying his sticky eyelids apart, attempting to survey his surroundings. He had that dazed and muddled feeling when you wake up and aren’t quite sure where you are. Relief flooded through him when he realized he was home, sprawled across his own bed, which he must have collapsed onto in the shape of a starfish in the early hours of the morning. It had been twenty-four years since she'd last seen it, but the place looked exactly the same. Lucy stepped off the bus and gazed cautiously around at the town she ran away from all of those years ago.
