Summer still lingered in the lower altitudes but leaf peeping in the high country was about to peak. I checked into my room at the Arrabelle in Vail, Colorado. The ornate fixtures, crown molding, and crystal chandeliers testified of the luxury that can be expected from this high-end establishment.
