I stand in the doorway of my cabin, watching the snow fall. It's midwinter, 1946 but it doesn't feel that way. Constantly, flashbacks rage through my mind. We've been looking for it for as long as I can remember. I don't even know what it is. Only that it's important. That it matters. Some even say it's life or death. I don't believe them though. I see him in the hallways often. Tall. Dark hair. Brown eyes. Handsome. Sometimes laughing with his friends. Other times walking briskly through the hallways on the way to class.
