High amid the myriad Douglas fir, I’m perched by a wooden aerie, scanning the skies with voracious enthusiasm. In stark contrast to my heart lies the world in repose. All is still as Gaia yawns, renewed, apart from the babbling brook below and the rustling vegetation above.
