"I hate to break the news to you, Clarissa, but it turns out that, in fact, you can't hold your breath for a whole minute straight. Therefore, you lost the bet."Even though these words came from the mouth of my best friend, Emily Davis, I couldn't believe what I just heard. "Ooh! That wasn't very nice of you, Emily. You should know by now that I can only hold my breath for a maximum of half a minute," I angrily sneered back. "Also, what will be my punishment for losing the bet?" Emily didn't say anything as she quietly left the room while st...

At first, nobody knew what to say. We all awkwardly stared at each other, with none of us knowing what to do.It had been a long and tiring day. Then, after about an hour of pure emptiness, my father, the new king of Willowsby, finally broke the silence."As all of you may know, with the death of my parents, the late King Walter III and Queen Consort Irinia, I am now the king of Willowsby."My four year old brother, Prince Nolan, shyly raised his hand."So, when's your coronation?" he mumbled.Silence once again filled the room as my father quickl...

"Hey, Julie, what would your older sister think of what happened last night?" Romy, my secret boyfriend, smugly asked me as we strolled through the mall. "First off, Emmie's on vacation with her boyfriend. Second, she'd take that as the reason as to why we can't date. Third of all, she'd most likely laugh her butt off at us. Once again, WHY is it that our parents won't let us be a couple?!" I angrily sneered. "You might not want to hear this, Julie, but, I think it's because ... uh, to make this conversation a long story somewhat short ... i...

Honestly, if I, Hailey Stevens, was forced to select a phrase to describe 2023, it'd be chaotic. 2024, however, despite only being a few hours old, already feels boring. It's NOT because I don't like Mondays, which is the current day of the week. It IS because if you don't include Valentine's Day and the various upcoming long weekends, my next big event isn't until - hey, what's this text? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Hi, Hailey, it's Amber! I heard about a Renaissance Faire-styled event called Winter Fantasy, which sounds like something you'd adore. ...

"Hej (hi), Benny, I have a secret to tell you!" my girlfriend eagerly whispered into my ear, hoping to snag my attention. It was 12/16/2023, my 25th birthday (which I do happen to share with a somewhat-similarly named member of ABBA, just wanted to let you all know that), and so far it had been going quite well, with the exception of a balloon loudly bursting and almost making me cry due to my sensitive ears. (It didn't.) "Sigh. Astrid, can you please tell me your secret?" "Nej (no), but I shall give you a hint: it relates to my Swed...

Snow. Some love it. Some hate it. As for me? Well, I, Lena Levy, love AND hate snow. That means that my opinion on snow depends on when it falls. For example, since I am an interfaith Jew, it angers me to see snow fall before the fall Jewish holidays conclude. Thankfully, that type of snowfall has never happened in my lifetime. Also, I hate snow days that fall on what were originally going to be test days for me. Why? They result in more studying for me. GRR! This has happened a few times. Oh, and, in my honest opinion, snow should NOT fall...
