Hi, I'm Meredith.

For as long as I've existed, books and writing have been an important part of my life. I was always going to end up working in a related field; this has always been my path.

I love that I can help others out with making their words as shiny and vibrant as possible, and play in their beautifully constructed worlds for a while. Maybe you'll be the next writer I can help?

With years of experience, including for Aurora House (an international publisher), I offer editing and proofreading for a range of genres - most notably, fantasy, sci-fi, general fiction, action, self-help, spiritual, and new age (including Tarot and oracle decks).

I'm particularly interested in speculative fiction - if it incorporates reality and otherworldly elements, I'm probably interested - and spiritual/new age manuscripts with a focus on self development and positive growth.

I also love hybrid genres like sci-fi/western; think Joss Whedon's Firefly and the videogame series Borderlands. (The graphic novels for both are great!) I'd love to work on some cosy fantasy or historical fantasy too.

When editing/proofreading, my aim is to ensure your voice is as strong as possible and keeps its uniqueness consistently throughout the manuscript, while fixing errors (or guiding you on how to approach that) and helping to get your manuscript closer to publishing. I also offer manuscript assessments if you're not quite ready for editing yet but would like some guidance to get there.

A note about services offered:

I offer copy editing and proofreading. Novels, novellas, and short stories are all welcome. I don't offer developmental editing at this time.

By focussing primarily on copy editing and proofreading, I'm able to specialise and refine my skills in those areas, and offer higher quality services.

Please let me know if you want your manuscript to be in Australian English or otherwise when you send through a brief. It would also be helpful to know if you have a style guide or style sheet prepared (not required).
