Overview
Monika is a literary agent, writer, editor, and founder of both a literary agency and magazine. She is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo and the Columbia Publishing Course, a board member of the AALA, and has worked closely with leading voices in contemporary literature over her decade-long publishing career. Her interests include literary fiction and compelling non-fiction in cultural criticism, food, popular culture, journalism, science, and current affairs.
As an editor, I am deeply collaborative, focusing on clarifying an author's intent off the page in a developmental edit while also sharpening the prose through deep line editing. I love to develop a personalized reading list with a writer, provide accountability partnership, and review outlines and writing plans after a first read, then dive back in for a revision that focuses even more deeply on every sentence.
