Shelly Davis

Shelly Davis – Editor

Copyeditor/developmental editor specializing in women’s fiction/historical fiction with clients from Big 5 publishing to indie authors.

Overview

I have always loved the details. I enjoy ensuring that whatever I am working on is clearly expressed and looks professional. For a decade, I applied this skill to managing Human Resources for biotech and high-tech firms in Silicon Valley. Then I shifted gears to focus more on words, editing newsletters and blog posts until I discovered the joy of working on fiction. Books are my favorite, especially women’s fiction. I love to read about a woman’s journey and the choices she makes. Other genres I work on include historical fiction, contemporary fiction, suspense, psychological thrillers, and romance.

Your story is safe in my hands. I believe strongly in preserving the author’s voice. My job is to help readers understand what you’re trying to say. Whether you need developmental editing or copyediting, it’s all about the details and details are my specialty. With a compassionate touch, I will help you polish your manuscript so that it can shine.

*Please note: I am generally booked out for 2-3 months. It is better to plan ahead and book your slot in advance.
