Work experience

Self-employed

Feb, 2006 — Present
For more than 3 decades I have worked in the publishing and entertainment industries as a working writer and story consultant. I have taught story development through Stanford University's Creative Writing Program for over a decade, and am a guest lecturer through UCLA's Creative Writing Extension program. My company, Storygeeks.com, has been offering online story development help to screenwriters, novelists, and memoirists since 2006. I am a regular contributor to Screenwriting Magazine and have an ongoing column, Story Talk. I have also written for all the major writing magazines both nationally and internationally. My consulting style is direct, constructive, and highly personal, as I prefer face-to-face rather than purely electronic communication. My clients have won major literary awards and recognition and include debut authors and top-tier professionals.
